Digital Italia Team: User Interview, Personas, User Journey and User Stories
This third post looks at the USER INTERVIEWS, PERSONAS, USER JOURNEY, and USER STORIES kits. We could have put these kits first on our list of creating a digital presence, but we believe that our first post, SEO and WEB ANALYTICS, should be an application designer’s tools for identifying the targets to be interviewed. That said, it’s also fair to argue that a User Interview is often a good starting point for collecting end user profiles. Either way, here we will present the USER INTERVIEWS, PERSONAS, USER JOURNEY and USER STORIES kits dedicated to the collection, profiling and sharing of the final users' roles.
USER INTERVIEWS [UNDERSTAND]
The kit provides all the tools necessary for preparing, conducting, and documenting interviews.
This kit contains:
- Research protocol
- Recruiting questionnaire
- Guide to conducting the interview
- Disclaimer for consent to data processing
- Certificate of attendance
- Notification tools
- Presentation of results
The kit contains some worksheets to work on the personas and a template to describe the personas in a presentation.
- Construction of personas
- Presentation slide of the personas
USER JOURNEY [DEVISE]
The User Journey is useful for representing interactions between the user and the service, through a representation of all the phases of the experience and the description of all the activities, step by step.
The kit has:
- User journey mapping exercise
- User journey map on excel
- Presentation of a user journey map
USER STORIES [DEVISE]
The aim of the User Stories kit is to write short narrative descriptions of the tasks that a user would like to do through interaction with a digital service. The user stories are useful to describe the technical requirements and design issues of the digital service, and to coordinate the design and the development phases of the service, as the AGILE approach requires.
The next post, the fourth and final post in this series, will investigate the Italian Design team’s Wireframe, Usability, UI, and Web Toolkit kits.
