Entando low-code in action #1: the Entando Admin Console
What is low-code? Low-code is a way to design and develop applications quickly with minimal hand-coding, reducing the need for extensive coding experience while allowing a level of customization. A good compromise, therefore, between standardization / efficiency and customization / high effort.
Low-code is beneficial for developers because they can skip all the infrastructure, the plumbing and re-implementation of patterns that can slow them down, and go straight to the unique business and tech needs of an application. Better developer productivity is the ultimate result.
Looking at business benefits, especially in the enterprise environment, low-code enables business users without formal coding skills to create, automatically deploy and update simple business applications, for themselves and their teams.
Entando offers many low-code tools, including the Admin Console.
The Entando Admin Console -take a tour here!- is a low-code Drag & Drop tool to design and manage web applications. It’s been recently redesigned to improve the user experience, following the UX patterns that Patternfly suggests.
From a non-IT-skilled user’s perspective, the Console is so easy to use that even non technical people, such as BU leaders or marketing staff, can comfortably manage parts of an application (e.g. changing new content, publish new pages, correct mistakes, change media assets, etc.).
From a developer’s point of view, their work is faster but, most importantly, the drag & drop tools allow you to offload some tasks to non-IT-skilled users, and focus senior developers where they’re really needed. Thus, the entire development team’s productivity improves.
