Smart working: Entando “sends everybody home”!
Working in a “smart, creative, agile” modality. That’s our philosophy, “working without boundaries”. The smart working trial is part of it. It’s a really good news, especially those who travel everyday back and forth to the office and that can now allocate that time in more productive and valuable activities.
We think that the interdisciplinary and international Entando teams, with personnel in different countries (Italy, U.S.A., Spain), can only further benefit from smart working. Thanks to remote meetings, conference calls and most of all collaborative tools, interactions among collaborators and colleague can lead to more effective results.
The test phase integrates the advantages of the remote working (some days per week), including the flexible working times option, with the possibility of on site meetings, to not miss the face to face collaboration and discussions. It’s a big step forward compared to the teleworking, that dovetails to more rigid criteria, including the working time.
Entando definitely has an advantage over others because document sharing tools, remote communication with customers, providers and partners, teamwork collaboration tools (Trello, Slack, Jira, Invision) has been used for a long time, trying to get everybody responsible for himself.
The advantages we expect from smart working are:
- higher productivity
- better work-life balance
- company energy saving
- time saving for the transfers
- less co2 production
- best working time management
“The change is driven primarily by Enterprises among which, in just one year the number of companies that implemented structured Smart Working initiatives increased from 17 % to 30% while among Small and Medium Businesses, though the degree of awareness and openness has strongly risen, the number of companies that embarked into structured projects is still just 5%. Smart Working in Italy affects a growing number of people and has tremendous expansion potential. To date, we can estimate that Smart Workers, that is, people who are granted considerable independence in defining their work modes in terms of location, working hours, and instruments used with or without a specific company policy, are approximately 250,000, a value that has increased by about 40% in three years.”
Lucio Staiano of Shockdom tells, in this regard, from his Facebook page:
“When i worked for important groups, I saw always a mistrust for the house working. I would saved 3 hours per day of my life and I would have been more productive. But they don’t trust, they would need control.
Shockdom doesn’t have a real headquarters. I work from my basement. The Shockdom employees work at home, they come from various parts of Italy and also from other countries.
Do we need some time to see each other? Yes, but not so frequently as you can imagine.
Sometimes it could be convenient to have a place where to meet partner, to do long sections, but not enough to quit this format.
Now it is called Smart Working (...)”
We are able to proof that the trend is growing, since the italian big companies as Ferrero, Trenitalia, Enel, Esprinet have now decided to start with smart working. But many smaller companies, as Shockdom, have adopted smart working without naming it in this way.
We are proud to be officially into this kind of innovation. And we’re even more proud to be among the pioneers in Sardinia, where also the city of Cagliari in the 2018 will start the smart working experimentation (source: Cagliari website).
