How we can help you?Entando FAQs
Is Entando for beginners or advanced developers?
Both. It’s easy for beginners after a small time investment but even more appreciated by advanced developers and solution architects as a platform for modern apps.
Is Entando still fully open source?
Yes, Entando is fully open source. The software is available on GitHub under a LGPL V1.2 licence . We also offer subscriptions for technical support. If you need support, then buying a subscription is necessary.
How can I migrate from one version of Entando to the next?
Every migration is different. As a platform, Entando allows our users and customers to build their own software and so there will be migration considerations for the Entando components of an architecture as well as the customer-developed components. Migrating the core elements of the architecture to a new version should be relatively straightforward.
Can I buy a subscription anytime, even for a project based on the community edition?
Yes you can. You won’t have to pay for migration costs unless your installation has been strongly customized. It’s best to evaluate your project together with us and confirm the scenario you'd be working under.
Can Entando run in the cloud?
Yes, Entando can be deployed on a public, private, or hybrid cloud and supports native deployment in Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift. Taking the “cloud-native” approach, we designed Entando specifically to run in the cloud in order to make use of the cloud’s advantages, such as cost optimization, high availability, and scalability.
Can Entando work with legacy systems?
Yes. Entando can build new applications but it performs just as well as a UX/UI layer on top of other existing legacy systems, including in house or proprietary systems, from which data can be injected and exposed in a more modern, more usable way.
